Engage to Change Celebrates Two Years of Influencing and Informing Success
It’s been two years since I began working with Engage to Change at Learning Disability Wales, supporting the project’s post-funding influencing and informing phase. The aim was to amplify the project’s successes, celebrate participant achievements, and push for meaningful changes in society — and the results have been impressive.
Building on seven years of impactful work, this two-year phase highlighted key outcomes and ensured that the project’s legacy continues. Broderick PR provided strategic communications support throughout, helping to share the project’s successes with a wider audience.
Raising the Project’s Profile
Through targeted media relations, Broderick PR secured coverage on major outlets including:
BBC Wales News
BBC Cymru Fyw
BBC Radio Wales
The coverage highlighted Engage to Change’s work in supporting participants into employment, celebrating achievements in skills development, and sharing stories of real impact with the public and stakeholders alike.
Amplifying Impact Through Social Media
Alongside media coverage, social media played a key role in reaching audiences. Over 350 posts were shared across Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter), helping to highlight participant successes, key project outcomes, and policy-relevant insights.
The Facebook page received 7,705 visits, significantly expanding reach.
Instagram engagement reached 12.6%, showing strong interaction and audience resonance.
X (Twitter) generated 5,262 impressions, boosting visibility among stakeholders and the wider public.
This online presence ensured the project’s achievements were communicated clearly and effectively, turning complex initiatives like Welsh Government–funded job coaching and skills development into engaging stories for a broad audience.
Celebrating Achievements
PR support also helped the project host a celebratory event attended by over 100 participants, stakeholders, and supporters. The event showcased success stories, strengthened connections, and highlighted the tangible outcomes of the project’s work. A bilingual legacy video was also produced, ensuring that the project’s impact is preserved and accessible for future audiences.
A Lasting Legacy
Through media coverage, social media engagement, and events, the communications strategy amplified the project’s achievements, strengthened stakeholder relationships, and highlighted its influence on policy and practice. Engage to Change’s work in supporting employment, building skills, and celebrating participants’ successes demonstrates the real-world impact of effective, strategic communications.
